Event Organization


 

The "Taking Back the Highways" event will be organized as follows:

 

There will be a base camp established at the Mille Lacs County Fairgrounds.  The base camp will be responsible for managing the event and communicating with the Law Enforcement Agencies, as well as the teams out on the highways.  The base camp will have the following structure:

  • Base camp leader will be responsible for overall event management and coordination, Rev. David Pohlkamp, Second Coming Ministries.
  • Base camp communications liaisons will be responsible for coordinating communicates with teams, to be assigned.
  • Base camp Law Enforcement liaison will be responsible for coordinating communicates with state, county and municipal law enforcement, Douglas Jensen, retired Brooklyn Park police officer.

  • Base camp prayer team leader will be responsible for leading team intercessors and praying for safety of teams while on the highways, Rev. Cindy Pohlkamp, Second Coming Ministries.
  • Base camp prayer team communication liaison will be responsible for communicating prayer concerns to teams, to be assigned.
  • Base camp prayer team intercessors will be responsible for praying for safety of teams while on the highways, to be filled by registration applicants.

  • Base camp worship team leader will be responsible for leading worship after teams return from highways, to be assigned.
  • Base camp worship team to be filled by cross-demoninational Princeton church musicians.

There will be between 35 and 40 teams walking the highways doing worship and prayer.  All team members must be able to walk the distance and must be in the 6th grade or older.  The teams will have the following structure:

  • Team leader will be responsible for managing his/her team, making sure team members adhere to rules and schedule, to be assigned.
  • Team coordinator(s) depending on size of team, this person(s) assist team leader, to be filled by registration applicants.
  • Team prayer leader will be responsible for leading team in prayer, to be filled by registration applicants.
  • Team worship leader will be responsible for leading team in worship, to be filled by registration applicants.
  • Team communication liaison will be responsible for coordinating communication with the base camp, to be filled by registration applicants.
  • Team driver(s) will be responsible dropping off the team and picking the team up after walk. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older, to be filled by registration applicants.
  • Team prayer leader will be responsible for leading team in prayer, to be filled by registration applicants.
  • Team members will be responsible for walking, worship and prayer over their assigned highway section, to be filled by registration applicants.
